2016 Buy Fresh, Buy Local Membership
It's membership renewal time! Our mission is to make is easier for consumers to find, choose and appreciate great local foods while supporting the farmers and lands that produce them. We do this by expanding market venues for local farmers, education of buying local and promoting local farmers, producers and businesses.

The Northern Tier Buy Fresh, Buy Local Program is under the umbrella of the Pennsylvania Association for Sustainable Agriculture (PASA) and national partner, the FoodRoutes Network. The Northern Tier Chapter includes Bradford, Potter, Susquehanna, Sullivan, Tioga, and Wyoming County.

The Northern Tier Chapter was formed in 2007 and is one of 9 chapters in Pennsylvania. The Endless Mountains Heritage Region serves as the coordinator and sponsor of the program. The chapter continues to run booth displays at local festivals, education fairs, and other events. The program relies on memberships and supporters to fund the program.

These include farmer's markets, roadside stands, local restaurants, community supported agriculture (CSA) programs and small local grocery stores.

The CNG Standards and growing requirements are based on the USDA National Organic Program rules. Certified Naturally Grown offers an affordable program that targets small farmers and farmers who grown a wide variety of crops.
